Monika’s manuscript and her first chapter is on BiorXiv. Colorful cichlids from Cameroon’s Bermin crater lake were examined for visual adaptations to deep-water environments. Our findings reveal both common and unique features of their visual systems, providing a foundation for comparison with other deep lake species.
